The general conditions:
After the merger of two previously self-sufficient companies, the aim was to simplify cooperation on the IT level and to align IT standards.
The client’s requirements:
- Standardization in the processes of user administration and access concepts to the old and new application software
- Merging or relocation of various service organizational units
- Design of new processes
- Adaptation of the existing software tools to the new requirements
- Implementation and launch of new interfaces
- Integration of external IT service providers into the newly created IT architecture
The role of the consultant:
Head of Program Management Office (PMO)
The tasks of the consultant:
- Construction and operation of Project Management Office
- Structure and creation of management reports
- Structure and creation of project reports
- Program and project control
- Tracking of projects and action lists
- Program controlling and compliance with budget limits for over 60 external employees
- Advice to the project management
- Moderation of workshops and meetings

The result:
Over a period of 19 months, more than 30 projects were successfully completed as part of the program. The desired standardization of the IT architectures and organizations has enabled the company to make significant financial savings in addition to the significant improvement in cooperation in the office IT world.
Advisor’s Comment:
The high number of successfully implemented projects within the period was achieved with a sufficiently scheduled preparatory phase before the official start of the program, the securing of the budget and the establishment of the project organization structure.
The necessary hardware equipment and the workstations required for the external resources were made available before the official start of the program so that the recruited specialists could start their work immediately.
